Detectives Continue to Investigate Germantown Homicide - Asking Public for Assistance

For Immediate Release: Monday, April 4, 2022

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division are currently investigating the February 10 homicide that occurred at the intersection of Cinnamon Drive and Mustard Seed Court in Germantown.

 

At approximately 9:06 p.m., Thursday evening, 5th District officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting that just occurred. Officers arrived at the scene and located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Officers provided life saving measures until fire rescue arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The victim, Keon Jones, age 19 from Germantown subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

 

Investigation has determined that the victim was walking to his residence when an unknown suspect approached in a vehicle and shot the victim.

 

This remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation.

 

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division are asking anyone who has information about this homicide to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the homicide suspect(s). Callers can remain anonymous
