Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a commercial strong-armed robbery of a McDonald’s in the 12100 block of Darnestown Road. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at approximately 1:01 p.m., Gaithersburg and Montgomery County Police 6th District Police responded to the location for the report of a theft. Upon arrival, officers determined that a strong-armed robbery occurred.
The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect entered the restaurant and placed an order. The suspect handed the employee cash to pay for the order and when the employee opened the register, the suspect went around the counter and pushed the employee out of the way. The suspect then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and obtained a physical description of the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 20-years-old, 6-feet tall and slim build. He was wearing a tan hat, black jacket, grey hoodie, black pants, dark colored boots and a white surgical mask.
