Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) have charged and arrested 70-year-old David Wayne Brown, of Rockville, for committing sexual offenses against a minor approximately 38 years ago. Detectives have released a photo of Brown and encourage anyone who may be a victim by Brown to come forward.
On December 30, 2021, detectives began an investigation into the sexual abuse of an adult male that was molested by Brown. The incidents occurred on multiple occasions over the course of approximately two years (1981-1983), in the areas of Vandalia Dr. in Rockville and Homecrest Rd. in Silver Spring.
At the time these offenses occurred, the 11-year-old victim babysat for Brown, who was approximately 29 years old.
On July 1, 2022, detectives applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for Brown, charging him with second- and third-degree sex offense. Brown was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit. Brown was released on an unsecured personal bond.
Detectives believe that there may be additional victims of sexual abuse by Brown that have not contacted police.
