Detectives Investigate Rockville Shooting

For Immediate Release: Saturday, October 8, 2022

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 1st District Investigative Section are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on October 7, 2022, in the area of Twinbrook Parkway.  


At approximately 9:23 p.m., officers responded to the 12900 block of Twinbrook Parkway for the sound of shots and the report of a shooting that just occurred.  


Upon arrival, the first responding officer on scene observed the suspect carrying a black handgun with an extended magazine down by his side. As the officer stopped his unmarked vehicle, the suspect raised the gun towards the officer. The officer began to get out of his car, announcing his presence and ordered the suspect to put down the gun. The suspect dropped the gun and ran away from the scene.


Officers from the Montgomery County Police - 1st District and Rockville City Police Department responded and located multiple shell casings at the scene. Officers observed that the gun was a black Privately Made Firearm (PMF) with a 30-round extended magazine. 


The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 30-years-old, with short black hair. He was wearing a baseball hat, black jacket and blue jeans.  


This is an active and ongoing investigation.
