Detectives Investigate Wayne Ave. Homicide; Public’s Help Needed

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a homicide that occurred in the parking garage on Wayne Ave. and Fenton St. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Detectives are urging the public for assistance in solving this homicide.  

 

At approximately 8:59 p.m., 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded to the location and found an adult male victim in a stairwell, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Life saving measures were provided to the victim who was then pronounced dead at the scene.  

 

The decedent has been identified as 62-year-old Charles Joseph Reynolds, of Silver Spring.  

 

Currently, there is no suspect in custody. This is an active and ongoing investigation. Detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed anything to come forward.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the homicide suspect. Callers may remain anonymous.
