Silver Spring Man Arrested on Sex Trafficking Charges; Additional Victims a Concern

For Immediate Release: Thursday, January 5, 2023

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Vice and Intelligence Unit have arrested and charged a Silver Spring man with multiple counts of sex trafficking and prostitution and believe there may be more victims.

34-year-old Pedro DeJesus Perez Oliveros was arrested on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, following an investigation by the Vice and Intelligence Unit. In September of 2022, Vice and Intelligence detectives learned that a female victim had been forced to work as a prostitute and began an investigation.

The victim alleged that she met the man through an ad on social media, advertising cleaning jobs. The victim was told that she could make extra money as an “escort” along with the cleaning jobs and stop anytime she wanted. The victim worked for the male suspect and eventually stated that she wanted to stop. The suspect told her that she would have to pay $10,000 dollars for him to let her go.

The investigation revealed that the male suspect was Perez Oliveros, and a second female victim was identified. There is a concern that there may have been additional women hired and potentially victimized by Perez Oliveros, and detectives are asking for them to come forward.

Perez Oliveros is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
