UPDATE: Joel Misael Munoz has been located safe and unharmed.

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police- Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Joel Misael Munoz, a missing 9-year-old from Silver Spring.

Munoz was last seen on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., in the 2300 block of Blueridge Avenue.

Munoz is 5-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs 95 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light gray sweater, blue jeans with rips at the knees, and blue,gray and white Nike sneakers. He was wearing a silver cross around his neck and carrying soccer cleats.

Police and family are concerned for his welfare.
