Detectives Investigate Treetop Lane Homicide; Victim’s Identity Released

For Immediate Release: Monday, March 27, 2023

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at an apartment building on Treetop Lane in Silver Spring.  

  

At approximately 7:20 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to 2001 Treetop Lane for the report of a shooting.   

  

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim in the stairwell of the apartment building with an apparent gunshot wound. Officers provided life saving measures to the victim until Montgomery County Fire Rescue arrived.  

The victim was then pronounced dead at the scene. The decedent has been identified as 18-year-old Jalahni Antonio Harrington of Gaithersburg.   

There is currently no suspect in custody and this is an active and ongoing investigation.
