Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred on Monday, April 10, 2023.
At approximately 4:21 p.m., 1st District officers, Montgomery County Fire Rescue and Montgomery County Animal Services personnel responded to the 6300 block of Muncaster Mill Rd. for the report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation by detectives has determined that a Red Toyota Corolla was traveling south on Muncaster Mill Rd., prior to Bowie Mill Rd., when for reasons still under investigation, the driver struck the 17-year-old female victim, who was walking her two dogs across the street. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her two dogs died at the scene.
