Gaithersburg, MD- Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Patrol Investigations Unit have arrested and charged 31-year-old Kerrick Omar Miller of an unknown address, with a theft that occurred on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Bethesda.
At approximately 10:51 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the location for the report of a theft that occurred earlier.
The investigation revealed that the victim, a restaurant employee, had their backpack hanging on a coat rack, near the back of the restaurant. The suspect took the victim’s backpack, went into the men’s bathroom and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect left the backpack under the sink and exited the restaurant.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Miller as the suspect and determined that he was involved in several thefts and a strong-arm robbery in the Bethesda area.
On Friday, April 14, 2023, at approximately 11:39 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the 4900 block of Cordell Ave., for the report of a theft that just occurred.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined that Miller entered the restaurant and ordered food and beverages. When the waiter for the evening brought Miller the bill, Miller got up to leave the restaurant. The waiter told Miller that he needed pay the bill at which point Miller shoved the waiter against the wall and left the restaurant, without paying his bill.
Detectives applied for an arrest warrant for Miller, charging him with multiple counts of theft and strong-arm robbery.
On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, Miller was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit, where he is currently being held without bond.
