Detectives Investigate University Boulevard E. Death; Victim's Identity Released

For Immediate Release: Sunday, June 11, 2023

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a death that occurred on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in the 800 block of University Boulevard E. in Silver Spring.   

At approximately 12:40 a.m., Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue Personnel responded to the location for the report of a possible assault.  

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from trauma to his body. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  

The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old, Elmer Camacho-Aguilar.  

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Washington, D.C., will conduct an autopsy to officially determine the cause and manner of death.    

This is an active and ongoing investigation.  

 

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding Camacho-Aguilar’s death or whereabouts earlier the evening of Friday, June 9, 2023, to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-455-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s). Callers can remain anonymous.
