Concern for Missing Woman (LOCATED)

UPDATE: Emebet Asfaw Mengistu, Rakeb Wudneh and Meklit Wudneh have been located safe and unharmed.

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 34-year-old Emebet Asfaw Mengistu, 2-year-old Rakeb Wudneh and 10-month-old Meklit Wudneh.   

       

On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Emebet, Rakeb and Meklit were last seen in the 8600 block of 16th Street in Silver Spring.   

  

Emebet may be driving a 2018 Toyota RAV4 bearing Maryland license plate 2ET5079.  

  

Emebet is 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 126 pounds. She has brown shoulder length hair and brown eyes.  

  

Rakeb weighs 28 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.  

  

Meklit weighs 20 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.  

 

Police and family are concerned for their welfare.        

       

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Emebet, Rakeb and Meklin is asked to call the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000 (24-hour line). Callers may remain anonymous.
