Detectives Investigate Residential Burglary; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD- Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 3000 block of Calverton Boulevard in Silver Spring on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.  

 

Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined that at approximately 12:52 p.m., an unknown suspect kicked in the front door and entered the residence. Once inside the subject put on a mask and sunglasses and proceeded to search the bedrooms and bathrooms. The subject was observed stealing personal property and putting it inside his pockets as he went from room to room. He then left the residence with the stolen property.  

 

Detectives reviewed the surveillance video and obtained a description of the suspect.  

 

The suspect is described as a Black male with short black hair, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with a red circular graphic on the chest, blue jeans, black backpack and white sneakers.  

 

Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this crime or the suspect involved to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Callers may remain anonymous.
