Concern for Missing Gaithersburg Teen (LOCATED)

UPDATE: Ava Smith has been located safe and unharmed.

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Ava Smith, a missing 15-year-old from Gaithersburg.

Smith was last seen on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m., in the 9800 block of Washingtonian Boulevard.

Smith is approximately 5-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. She has brown hair that is styled in a bob with bangs. She was last seen wearing a gray wool sweater and jeans. 

Police and family are concerned for her welfare. 

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Ava Smith is asked to call the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000 (24-hour line). Callers may remain anonymous.
