Investigators Asking Homeowners to Review Home Surveillance Video for Vandalism Suspects

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section continue to investigate multiple hate-based vandalisms and are asking for victims and/or homeowners to share surveillance videos of possible suspects.  


Third District investigators have released Ring camera video of a suspect setting fire to a flag hanging on the outside of a home but believe that there may be more than one person involved.


During the overnight hours of Tuesday, June 27, 2023, to Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at least eleven Pride and Ukrainian flags, as well as sign boards had been burned in the Mansfield Road, Wayne Place, Ellsworth Place, Greenbrier Drive, Pershing Drive and Deerfield Avenue neighborhoods.   

 

Anyone with information regarding the suspect(s) is asked to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Callers can remain anonymous.
