Shooting Suspect Arrested; Charged With Attempted First-Degree Murder

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section have arrested and charged 43-year-old Olutoye Ayorinde of Silver Spring, in connection to a shooting that occurred in the 2900 block of Marlow Farm Terrace.  

On Saturday, February 25, 2023, at approximately 1:03 a.m., the Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center received multiple calls for shots fired in the area of Fairland Road.  Officers subsequently located the scene of the shooting in the 2900 block of Marlow Farm Terrace. Montgomery County Police Officers also responded to a local hospital for a patient suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.  

Through the course of their investigation, detectives were able to identity Olutoye Ayorinde of Silver Spring as a suspect.

On Monday, June 12, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Ayorinde with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearm related charges.

On the strength of that arrest warrant, Ayorinde was arrested on Tuesday, June 20.  A residential search warrant was executed on Ayorinde’s residence where a stolen firearm was located.

He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without bond.
