Washington D.C. Man Arrested and Charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder

Gaithersburg, MD - 37-year-old Anthony L. Green, of Washington, D.C., has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder and other related charges, for a shooting he allegedly committed on Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Silver Spring.

 

At approximately 1:54 p.m., an adult male victim walked into the fire station in the 8100 block of Georgia Ave. suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his torso. He was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

 

The investigation by Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section revealed that the suspect was arguing with an individual in the 8100 block of Georgia Ave., when the victim intervened. At some point during the argument, Green reportedly shot the victim twice.

 

Through the course of the investigation, detectives developed Green as the suspect and they obtained an arrest warrant on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.

 

On Monday, July 31, 2023, Green was arrested and is being held in Washington D.C., for unrelated charges.
