Detectives Investigate Layhill Road Laundromat Burglary

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a commercial burglary that occurred at the Speedy Laundromat in the 12500 block of Layhill Road in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance photos of one of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.


The investigation by detectives has revealed that at approximately 3:50 a.m.,on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, a suspect forced entry into the laundromat by shattering the glass front door, stole an undisclosed amount of money and left the store.


At approximately 4:40 a.m., a second suspect entered the business through the broken front door, stole the cash register containing an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene.


The initial suspect is described as an unknown race male wearing a black mask that covered his entire face, red sweatshirt, black pants and black gloves.


The second suspect is described as a White male with black curly hair, wearing a gray shirt and black pants. The suspect does not appear to have full use of his left arm.
