Gaithersburg, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 1st District Station have arrested four adult males in possession of a stolen Porsche where three loaded handguns were recovered.
During the month of November 2023, officers attempted to pull over a 2021 Porsche SUV bearing a Virginia license plate after determining its license plate was registered to an Acura. Officers attempted to pull over the Porsche, which refused to stop and left the area at a high rate of speed.
During the course of the investigation, officers identified the driver of the Porsche as 26-year-old Cornell Kimrane Xavier, of New Carrollton, and obtained an arrest warrant against him, charging him with fleeing and eluding a uniform police officer. Officers also determined the location where the Porsche had been concealed.
On Monday, November 13, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers observed Xavier driving the Porsche and pulled him over in the area of Sheffield Manor Drive and Guilford Run Lane. Xavier attempted to escape in the Porsche by striking four police vehicles, but his attempts were unsuccessful. Xavier and 23-year-old Jerome Alante Hilliard, of Chevy Chase, were quickly apprehended after they got out of the Porsche and resisted arrest. The other occupant in the Porsche, 23-year-old Terry Kwaku Sanusi, of Gaithersburg, was then taken into custody.
A search of the Porsche revealed a loaded Ruger 5.7x28 handgun, a loaded Glock 9mm handgun and a loaded Glock .40 handgun.
Officers also determined that the Porsche had been reported stolen out of Washington, D.C. in March 2023.
Moments later, 23-year-old Melvin Johnson, of Silver Spring, arrived at the location. Officers spoke with Johnson, determined that Johnson was involved in the crime and placed him under arrest.
The suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where Xavier, Sanusi and Hilliard were charged with illegal possession of a handgun, auto theft and theft related charges. Johnson was charged with unauthorized use of motor vehicle. Xavier, Sausi and Hilliard are being held without bond, while Johnson was released on a $400 bond.
