Detectives Investigate Damascus Burglaries; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section are investigating a series of burglaries that occurred at the Stay Lit Smoke Shop in Damascus beginning August 2023.  


To date, four burglaries and one attempted burglary have occurred at the store located in the 26100 block of Ridge Road: 


  • August 6, 2023, at approximately 12:35 a.m. 
  • August 25, 2023, at approximately 4:30 a.m. 
  • September 17, 2023, at approximately 3:35 a.m. 
  • September 24, 2023, at approximately 4:00 a.m. (attempted) 
  • November 6, 2023, at approximately 3:40 a.m. 

In each of the above incidents, between two and five suspects entered the business by smashing either the front door or a front window with various objects.  Once inside, the suspects stole assorted merchandise from the store. 

Based on security footage obtained from each burglary, detectives believe that the same suspects have been involved in all of the incidents.  Detectives have released photos and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in these burglaries.
