Detectives Investigate 7-Eleven Robbery; Surveillance Photos of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a robbery of a person that occurred on Saturday, November 11, 2023, inside of the 7-Eleven in the 8400 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.  

    

At approximately 6:15 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of a robbery.  

   

The investigation by detectives has revealed that at approximately 5:45 a.m., an adult male victim entered the store to make a purchase. The suspect then approached and asked the victim for a cigarette. When the victim stated that he did not have one, the suspect assaulted the victim, reached into the victim’s pocket and stole his wallet before walking away. 

    

Detectives reviewed the surveillance video of the store and obtained a description of the suspect.    

   

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6-feet tall, with a muscular build, carrying a black sling bag and wearing a black winter hat, a green sweatshirt, black jeans and black shoes.
