Detectives Investigate Check Fraud at Truist Banks; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Patrol Investigative Unit are investigating two check frauds of a Montgomery County resident that occurred in October 2023 at a Truist Bank in Virginia and North Carolina.  

 

The investigation has revealed that on Friday, October 6, 2023, a female suspect, using fraudulent identification, cashed a check at a Truist Bank in Hampton, VA and left the scene in possession of an undisclosed amount of money. 

 

On Saturday, October 7, the same suspect entered a Truist Bank in Charlotte, NC, provided fraudulent identification and cashed another check from the same account. 

 

The suspect is described as a White female, in her fifties or sixties, with a slim build, long brown/blonde hair, carrying a black wallet and wearing dark colored frame glasses, a brown scarf, a white shirt, light colored pants and white shoes.
