Detectives Investigate Wheaton Residential Burglary; Photos of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a burglary that occurred on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue in Wheaton. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him. 


At approximately 5 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of a burglary that just occurred.


The investigation by detectives has revealed that the suspect entered the apartment and stole several items, to include government property, while the homeowner was sleeping. During the burglary, the victim woke up and observed the suspect leaving the apartment with property.


Detectives obtained surveillance photos of the suspect.


The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 18 to 20 years-old, 5-feet, 8-inches tall, thin build, brown eyes, dark hair, wearing a black beanie, a distinct green and black pattern windbreaker style jacket, Nike sweatpants and slides.
