Detectives Investigate Kensington Auto Body Shop Armed Robbery; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Investigative Section are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at an auto body shop in the 4100 block of Howard Avenue in Kensington.  

 

At approximately 7:09 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed robbery. 

 

The investigation has revealed that two male victims were repairing a vehicle in the driveway of the auto body shop when a suspect approached them, displayed a handgun and demanded their property. The victims handed over their property and money to the suspect who then left the scene.  


Detectives reviewed the surveillance camera of the shop and obtained a description of the suspect. 

 

The suspect is described as heavy-set male, with an average height, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, a black cap, black pants and black shoes.
