Detectives Investigate Bethesda Armed Robbery; Video Surveillance Released

Gaithersburg, MDDetectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Investigative Section are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, January 6, 2023, in Bethesda.

Detectives have released surveillance video and are asking for the publics assistance in identifying the suspects. The investigation has revealed that at approximately 2:30 a.m., two suspects approached an adult male victim who was walking towards the parking garage in the 4900 block of Cordell Avenue. One of the suspects grabbed a necklace off the victim’s neck and started running towards the parking garage. As the suspect was running, he dropped his mobile phone. When the victim attempted to pick up the suspect’s phone, the suspect pulled a handgun from his waistband and used it to strike the victim in the face, causing the victim to fall to the ground. Both suspects fled the area in a silver-colored vehicle.

Detectives reviewed surveillance video and obtained a description of the suspects.
