Suspect Arrested for Vehicle Theft; Linked to Multiple Crimes

Gaithersburg, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 6th District Station have arrested 33-year-old Travis Jamal Isreal, of Gaithersburg, for stealing a vehicle and committing multiple burglaries, thefts and thefts from vehicles.  

 

The investigation has revealed that in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 13, 2023, Isreal stole a 2019 Toyota Rav4 from a residence in the 7300 block of Miller Fall Road in Rockville. At approximately 6 p.m., the victim tracked her Toyota to the 100 block of East Deer Park Drive in Gaithersburg and called 9-1-1. 

 

Officers arrived at the location, spoke with the victim and located the suspect, later identified as Isreal, in the stolen Toyota. Isreal resisted arrest by trying to run away from officers who quickly took him into custody. 

 

Inside the vehicle, officers recovered items of evidentiary value that connected Isreal to burglaries on Calabar Drive, Tulip Drive, Cottonwood Terrace and Washington Grove Lane. Officers also linked Isreal to a theft of items from another victim’s front porch on Gaither Road.  

 

Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department have also charged Isreal with another burglary that occurred on East Deer Park Drive.   

 

Isreal was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he faces multiple burglary charges, auto theft, various theft charges, rogue and vagabond and resisting arrest. He is currently being held without bond.
