Detectives Investigate Dunkin’ Donuts Armed Robbery; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police - Major Crimes Division are investigating a commercial armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Dunkin’ Donuts in the 7500 block of Georgetown Road in Bethesda. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

 

At approximately 7:47 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the location for the report of a commercial armed robbery.

 

The investigation has revealed that a male suspect entered the business and approached an employee who was working behind the counter. The suspect implied that he had a handgun on his waistband and demanded money. The employee removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and handed it over to the suspect who pointed the handgun at the employee before leaving the scene.

  

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage of the business and obtained a description of the suspect.

 

The suspect is described as an adult male, in his twenties or thirties, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall, 150 lbs and armed with a handgun.
