Detectives Investigate Silver Spring Avenue Armed Robbery

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in the 900 block of Silver Spring Avenue.

The preliminary investigation by detectives has revealed that at approximately 12 a.m., an adult male victim was walking near the intersection of Silver Spring Avenue and Mayor Lane when two unknown suspects approached him. One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded his personal property. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands. The suspects then left the scene with the victim’s stolen property in a black SUV with tinted windows, driven by a third suspect.
