Detectives Investigate Claridge Road Robbery

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in a robbery that occurred on Monday, February 5, 2024, in the 11900 block of Claridge Road in Silver Spring.

 

The preliminary investigation by detectives has revealed that at approximately 6:30 p.m., the victim was getting off of the Ride-On Bus at the Claridge Road and Claridge Court bus stop, when the male suspect, who was also getting off the bus, approached the victim to ask a question. The suspect then backed away from the victim before approaching her again, shoving her to the ground, causing her to drop her backpack and personal items. The suspect grabbed the victims backpack and ran from the scene with the stolen property.


Detectives obtained surveillance video of the robbery and suspect.


The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 15 to 19-years-old wearing a black jacket with fur on the hood, black pants and white and red sneakers.
