Detectives Investigate Residential Burglary in Wheaton; Surveillance Video of Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD - Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a residential burglary that occurred on Sunday, April 21, 2024, on Burtonhill Drive in Wheaton. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

 

At approximately 12:12 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of a burglary.

 

The preliminary investigation by detectives has revealed that an unknown male suspect forced entry into the home while one of the homeowners was sleeping. The suspect stole property and left the home after the other homeowner arrived home.

 

Detectives reviewed the surveillance cameras of the home and obtained a description of the suspect.

 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with long hair, wearing a winter hat, thick glasses, a light-colored sweatshirt, blue jeans, winter gloves and carrying a backpack.
