Detectives Investigate Edgemoor Lane Robberies; Surveillance Photos of the Suspect Released

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating two commercial armed robberies that occurred in the 4800 block of Edgemoor Lane in Bethesda. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

On Monday, May 13, 2024, at approximately 7:21 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to Geste Beer and Wine for the report of an armed robbery. The preliminary investigation has revealed that an unknown male suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register before leaving the scene.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at approximately 6:26 p.m., the same unknown suspect entered the Geste Beer and Wine, displayed a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register before leaving through the back of the store.

Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his late teens. On Monday, May 13, 2024, he was wearing a black jacket with floral patterns on the back, light colored jeans and black shoes. On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark distressed jeans with rips, black boots and a black face mask.
