Officers Investigate Auto Theft; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released

Gaithersburg, MD - Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police- 3rd District Patrol Services Bureau are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects who allegedly committed an auto theft on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Planet Fitness, in the 1100 block of Wayne Ave., for the report of an auto theft.
The preliminary investigation revealed that two female subjects entered the gym's locker room and stole the victim’s car keys. The suspects stole the victim’s white 2015 Toyota Corolla bearing MD registration 4DZ5597 parked in the area, stole the car and proceeded to make unauthorized purchases at a nearby store with a credit card found inside the Corolla.  
Officers obtained surveillance video of the suspects.
Subject one is described as a Black female approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, 130-pounds, wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and multicolored shoes, with a black crossbody purse.  
Subject two is described as a Black female approximately 5-feet, 2-inches tall, 180-pounds, wearing a black long sleeve shirt and blue jeans, with a pink crossbody purse.
