Blue Alert Issued for Chevy Chase Man Wanted in Connection with Death of Maryland Parole and Probation Agent; Victim's Identity Released

Gaithersburg, MD- The Maryland Parole and Probation agent found dead inside of a Chevy Chase apartment has been identified as 33-year-old Davis Martinez. 

Martinez, a six-year employee of the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services, had responded to the 2800 block of Terrace Drive in Chevy Chase to conduct a resident check of Emanuel Edward Sewell, who had been released from prison in 2021. 

When Martinez had not reported back to work, Montgomery County Department of Police 2nd District officers were dispatched to the location for a check the welfare call, where Martinez was found inside. 

The medical examiner has determined the manner of death a homicide. The victim suffered multiple injuries. 

The suspect, Sewell, has not been located. 

Sewell is a 54-year-old Black male. He is 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds. He may be driving a gray 2017 Hyundai Elantra with Maryland license plates 93661HT.

Sewell is believed to be in possession of Agent Martinez’s badge. 

The Maryland State Police have issued a Blue Alert to help locate Sewell. Sewell may be armed and is considered dangerous. Do not approach the suspect if located.
