Gaithersburg, MD - The Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID), Child Exploitation Unit is actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a sex offense involving a child.

Detectives are concerned there may be additional victims that have not contacted police.

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at approximately 7:59 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the 11000 block of Veirs Mill Road at the Wheaton Metro bus turnaround for the report of a sexual assault inside of a Ride On bus.

The teenage victim stated that the suspect, a Black male, approximately six-feet tall, wearing a red Washington Nationals cap, gray shorts and a Winnie the Pooh shirt, exposed himself and touched the teen.

The suspect got off the bus at Connecticut Ave and University Blvd West.

SVID detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying this suspect.
