Detectives Investigate Columbia Pike and Fairland Road Fatal Collision; Victim's Identity Released

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle.

At approximately 1:23 a.m., on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue responded to the area of Columbia Pike and Fairland Road for the report of a single-vehicle collision involving a green 2002 Honda CBR600 motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old, Yuan Long Yuin of Beltsville.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that Yuin’s Honda was traveling southbound on Columbia Pike, when for reason’s unknown at this time, he lost control, causing him to strike a guardrail and eject from the motorcycle.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
