Adult Male Charged with Castle Boulevard Carjacking and Attempted Burglary

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested 30-year-old Samuel Robert Bajard, of an unknown address, with an attempted burglary and a carjacking that occurred on Sunday, June 9, 2024, in the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard.

 

At approximately 4:24 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of an attempted burglary.

 

The investigation has revealed that Bajard and other unknown suspects attempted to force entry into an apartment at the location by kicking the front door and throwing a rock through a window. The resident confronted the suspects and sprayed them with bear spray. The suspects left and drove away in an unknown vehicle.

 

As Bajard and the other unknown suspects were leaving the apartment complex, they assaulted the driver of a Toyota Camry who had just arrived home. The suspects stole the Toyota and left the area. 

 

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Bajard as one of the suspects.

 

On Thursday, June 13, detectives obtained an arrest warrant against Bajard, charging him with attempted burglary and carjacking related charges.

 

On Thursday, June 20, Bajard was arrested in Silver Spring and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.
