Detectives Investigate Goshen Road Fatal Collision; Victim's Identity Released

Gaithersburg, MD- Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Saturday, July 20, 2024, on Goshen Road near Rock Elm Way.

 

At approximately 2:16 a.m., 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a two-vehicle collision.

 

The investigation by detectives has revealed that a blue 2019 Kia Stinger was traveling northbound on Goshen Road when it collided with a white 2021 Hyundai Venue that was traveling southbound on Goshen Road near Rock Elm Way.

 

The driver of the Hyundai was extricated from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as 25-year-old Yanique Tyshay Jones, of Rockville.

 

The driver of the Kia was transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
