Montgomery Village Man Charged with Murder

Gaithersburg, MD - A 21-year-old Gaithersburg man is dead following a shooting in Montgomery Village.

On Monday, August 12, 2024, at approximately 11:38 a.m., officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) 6th District were dispatched to the 19300 block of Club House Road. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save his life, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The MCPD Major Crimes – Homicide Division responded, processed the scene, and interviewed witnesses. During the investigation, 20-year-old Oliver Alexis Perez Fierro of Montgomery Village was identified as a possible suspect and the alleged shooter. At approximately 12:15 p.m., Perez Fierro was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters.

A search warrant was issued and executed at Perez Fierro’s residence, where items of evidentiary value were recovered. A warrant was subsequently issued for Perez Fierro’s arrest, charging him with first-degree murder and one count of use of a handgun in the commission of a felony. This is believed to be an isolated incident between the two individuals.

Perez Fierro is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he awaits a bond hearing.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. The name of the deceased will be released within 24-hours, following proper notification of next of kin.
