Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section continue to investigate an attempted strong-arm robbery that occurred on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue in Wheaton. Detectives have released additional surveillance photos of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of an attempted strong-arm robbery.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was approached by two female suspects while walking into Safeway. Upon leaving the store, the victim walked towards their car which was parked in the basement garage and was again approached by the same two female suspects. The suspects then began to attack, kicking and hitting the victim, causing the victim to fall to the ground. A good Samaritan saw the assault and yelled for the suspects to stop. The suspects then left the garage heading towards Fern Street.
The suspects are described as two Black females, both approximately 18 years old.
The first suspect is described as 5-feet, 5-inches to 5-feet, 7-inches tall, with a light complexion and short ponytail. She was wearing a pink sweater, white t-shirt and jeans. She was carrying a pink phone case.
The second suspect is described as having a thin build, with a dark complexion. She was wearing a black sweater and black bonnet.
