Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 6th District Investigative Section have charged 20-year-old Terrence Stover of Germantown, 19-year-old Tyriq Roberts Hawkins of Germantown and a 16-year-old male of Olney with the shooting of a 17-year-old victim that occurred on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle in Montgomery Village.
At approximately 4:58 p.m., officers from the 6th District Community Action Team were patrolling a neighborhood in the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle when they observed a gray Honda Odyssey parked in front of an apartment building. Three suspects got out of the Honda and entered the building. Shortly after, one of the suspects shot the 17-year-old male victim inside the building, and all of the suspects left the scene in the Honda.
Officers provided life-saving measures to the victim until Montgomery County Fire and Rescue arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers attempted to pull over the suspects in the Honda, which continued driving erratically through several neighborhoods and I-270. Officers pursued the suspects to the area of Longdraft and Clopper Roads, where the suspects bailed out of the Honda. Officers established a perimeter and searched for the suspects.
With the assistance of community members, K-9 units, Raven, 1st, 5th and 6th District Special Assignment Team members and Gaithersburg Police officers, the three suspects were apprehended and taken into custody.
Stover, Hawkins and the 16-year-old male were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where they were charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder. The 16-year-old was charged as an adult. They are being held without bond.
