Gaithersburg Man Dies from Fatal Collision

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, November 13, 2024

Gaithersburg, MD - The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Rockville on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

 

At approximately 5:24 a.m., 28-year-old Gaithersburg resident Luis Rios Chirinos was hit by a black Lexus GS while trying to cross Veirs Mill Road from the median near the intersection with Robindale Drive. The driver of the Lexus remained at the location and is cooperating with the investigation.

 

Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched to the intersection and Chirinos was transported to an area hospital, where he later died on Monday, November 11th.

 

This is an active investigation. CRU detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information related to the incident to contact CRU at (240) 773-6620.
