Burglary Suspect Arrested Following Pursuit

Gaithersburg, MD - Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 6th District have arrested 18-year-old Michael Evan Cutler following a commercial burglary that led to a pursuit on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Gaithersburg.

At approximately 11 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the 8000 block of Cessna Avenue for the report of a commercial burglary.

Upon arrival, officers observed a black Cadillac CT5 leaving the vacant property. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver of the Cadillac drove off and led officers on a pursuit down I-27 and onto I-495.  The suspect vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle, and four suspects attempted to run from the scene.

Cutler was quickly apprehended and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the collision with the parked vehicle. The three other suspects remain outstanding.

Upon searching the Cadillac, officers located items of evidentiary value that were stolen during the commercial burglary.

Evan Michael Cutler was transported to Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and charged with second-degree burglary. He is currently being held without bond.
