Montgomery County Police Arrest Two Suspects in September 2024 Homicide

For Immediate Release: Monday, March 3, 2025

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division, Homicide Section, have arrested two suspects in connection with the September 2024 shooting death of Antoine Lavale Parker.

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, at approximately 11:24 a.m., officers from the 6th District responded to a reported shooting and discovered Parker inside his apartment suffering from gunshot wounds.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified 65-year-old Erick Darryl West of Gaithersburg and 45-year-old Daryl James Howard as suspects.

On Friday, December 20, 2024, investigators executed a search and seizure warrant at Howard’s residence, leading to firearm related charges. On February 26, 2025, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Howard, charging him with first-degree murder. He is currently being held at the Carroll County Detention Center on unrelated charges.

On Monday, February 24, 2025, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for West, also charging him with first-degree murder. On February 26, a search warrant was executed at his residence, and he was taken into custody without incident.

West is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without bond.
