Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigates Gaithersburg Fatal Collision; Victim’s Identity Released

For Immediate Release: Thursday, March 13, 2025

Gaithersburg, MD- Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, near the 200 block of Perry Parkway in Gaithersburg. The decedent has been identified as 21-year-old Steven Alejandro Bruno Gonzalez of Gaithersburg.

 

At approximately 7:03 p.m., a gold 2008 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Perry Parkway approaching W. Diamond Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, the driver lost control of the vehicle after coming out of a curve and struck a tree.

 

Upon arrival, Gaithersburg Police, Montgomery County Police 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel located Gonzalez, the sole occupant of the vehicle, and pronounced him dead on the scene.

 

The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision. CRU detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call (240) 773-6620.
