Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police – Criminal Investigations Division (CID) are investigating three separate shootings that occurred overnight between Tuesday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Investigators believe the incidents are connected and that the victims were specifically targeted.
At approximately 11:48 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 5th District officers responded to the 20500 block of Staffordshire Drive in Germantown for a report of shots fired. Responding officers located two damaged vehicles, a Honda and a Hyundai, and observed multiple bullet holes in a nearby townhome. Shell casings were recovered from the parking lot. No injuries were reported.
Shortly after midnight, at approximately 12:47 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 1st District officers were dispatched to the 8000 block of Gramercy Boulevard in Derwood. A 25-year-old male victim had reportedly been shot while getting out of his vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No suspect has been identified or located.
At approximately 1:03 a.m., officers from the 6th District responded to the area of Centerway Drive and Strawberry Knolls in Gaithersburg. A 22-year-old male victim was reportedly shot inside a vehicle located in the parking garage of an apartment complex. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No suspect has been identified or located.
CID detectives are actively investigating each shooting.
