Gaithersburg, MD - Officers from the 2nd District Station - Central Business District Team have arrested and charged 32-year-old Ceolus Shall, of an unknown address, with thefts and vandalism that occurred on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
At approximately 1:57 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the 7-Eleven store in the 11500 block of Rockville Pike for an assault.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, later identified as Ceolus Shall, entered the store and attempted to steal property. When confronted by employees, Shall threw items at them and kicked the front door twice before running away from the scene. An officer obtained and provided a description of Shall to other officers in the area.
At approximately 3:01 p.m., officers located Shall near the 7-Eleven store and followed him to the North Bethesda Metro Station in the 5500 block of Marinelli Road. When officers informed Shall that he was under arrest, Shall ran away. After a short foot pursuit, Shall was taken into custody.
Through the law enforcement databases, officers were able to confirm Shall’s identify and determined that he had provided a false name.
A search of Shall revealed clothing stolen from the H&M and GAP stores on Grand Park Avenue. Officers contacted the loss prevention personnel at both stores and confirmed that Shall had stolen the clothing earlier that day.
Shall was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with theft less than $100, malicious destruction of property, obstructing and hindering and failure to truthfully identify. He has been released on a $100 unsecured personal bond.
