Collision Reconstruction Unit Investigating Watkins Mill Fatal Pedestrian Collision

Gaithersburg, MD - A Rockville man has died after being struck by a car in Gaithersburg. 

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, 61-year-old David Albert Parker was crossing Watkins Mill Road when he was hit by the driver of a silver 2018 Toyota Camry.

Montgomery County Police, Gaithersburg City Police, and Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded to the scene at approximately 5:30 a.m. and found the driver administering CPR to Parker. Fire Rescue personnel provided additional aid, but Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) determined that the Toyota was traveling eastbound on Watkins Mill Road, approaching the intersection of Spectrum Drive, when the driver struck Parker.

The investigation is ongoing, and the driver is cooperating with detectives. CRU detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call 240-773-6620.
