Gaithersburg, MD - Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police have arrested and charged 22-year-old Jaheim Malik Crum and 19-year-old D’vario Renee Lewis with 17 retail thefts and two robberies that occurred in the county between 2024 to 2025.
On Monday, March 10, 2025, officers from the 2nd District responded to the Montgomery County Liquor Store located in the 3700 block of W. University Blvd. for the report of a theft.
During the investigation, detectives identified Crum and Lewis as suspects.
Officers applied for and received an arrest warrant for Crum on March 29, 2025, and for Lewis on April 15, charging them with theft related charges.
Further investigation into Crum revealed that from December of 2024 to April of 2025, he had committed 17 different liquor store thefts throughout Montgomery County, some of which Lewis had been present for as well. Additionally, the investigation revealed that Crum was responsible for an armed robbery that occurred on October 23, 2024, and a strong-arm robbery that occurred on November 6, 2024.
On Thursday, May 1, 2025, detectives applied for and received an arrest warrant for Crum, charging him with first-degree assault, armed robbery, use of a firearm while committing a violent felony, robbery and second-degree assault.
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Crum was located and arrested by the 1st District Special Assignment Team in the 19200 block of Montgomery Village Avenue.
He has been transported to the Montgomery County- Central Processing Unit (CPU) where he is currently being held without bond.
Lewis is currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on an unrelated case.
