2025 Summer Traffic Task Force - Week 5

Gaithersburg, MD – During the fifth week of the Summer Traffic Task Force, officers from the Montgomery County Police - Alcohol Initiatives Unit and Alcohol Enforcement Section, along with allied agencies continued coordinated traffic enforcement efforts throughout the county.

 

During the week of June 15–21, officers conducted 96 traffic stops, resulting in 11 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). In addition, officers issued 125 traffic citations, 136 traffic warnings and 1 equipment repair order.

 

**It should be noted that the above arrests include only those arrests made by task force officers and do not include the additional arrests made by patrol officers in the performance of their duties. Therefore, the overall number of DUI arrests made by officers during this period is higher.

 

The allied agencies participating in this enforcement effort include the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Maryland State Police (SPIDRE Team and Rockville Barrack) and Maryland Transportation Authority Police.
