2025 Summer Traffic Task Force - Week 6

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, July 2, 2025

Gaithersburg, MD - Throughout the sixth week of the Summer Traffic Task Force, officers from the Montgomery County Police Department’s Alcohol Initiatives Unit and Alcohol Enforcement Section, working jointly with partner agencies, continued targeted traffic enforcement efforts across the county. 

During the week of June 22 and June 28, the Task Force conducted 127 traffic stops, which led to 9 arrests for driving under the influence (DUI). In addition, officers issued 119 citations, 194 warnings and 19 equipment repair orders. 

Please note: The DUI arrest figures above reflect only those made by task force officers and do not include DUI arrests carried out by patrol officers during their regular duties. As a result, the total number of DUI arrests for this time period is higher.

Participating allied agencies in this operation include the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Rockville City Police, Maryland State Police (SPIDRE Team and Rockville Barrack) and Maryland Transportation Authority Police.
